What is BEE?
BEE stands for "BUREAU OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY"
BEE is been established in 2002 under the provision of Energy Conservation Act 2001.
The Objective was to reduce energy intensity of Indian economy within the framework of Energy Conservation Act itself. The purpose is to achieve sustained adoption of energy efficiency in all sectors.

National Productivity Council
Government of India has established National Productivity Council in 1958 under ministry of Industry. The purpose is to promote productivity culture in India.
National Productivity Council(NPC) is an autonomous Non-profit organization, including equal representation of Industries, Government and Professional Institutes.
The main task of NPC is to accelerate productivity, enhance competitiveness, increase profit, augment safety and reliability and ensure better quality.
It helps in decision making, improve systems, work culture, procedure as well as customer satisfaction. Also it helps in problem solving both external and internal.
It assists in monitoring, reviewing and implementing the strategies for economic growth and quality of life.
It works on a motivation to improve economic, environmental and social productivity and growth of all stakeholders inclusively.
NPC also conducts national level certificate examination for energy auditors and energy managers.
Refresher Course
Bureau of energy efficiency conducts National Level Certificate Examination annually. The candidate who pass first three papers is ENERGY MANAGER. While the candidate who pass all four papers is ENERGY AUDITOR as well as Energy Manager.
As per the energy conservation act, under regulation 8, (Amendment, 2010) certified energy managers or energy auditors have to renew certificate after every FIVE years, by undergoing a REFRESHER training Program.
The Program is conducted by BEE at approved institutes. The objective of the refresher program is to update energy managers and auditors about latest energy management technologies. The program also helps to EM/EA to meet experts from energy field from across the country and helps in better understanding of latest energy norms and standards.
